New Plan to Provide $500M for Educational Innovations
May 03, 2010
Twelve national foundations have committed a total of $500 million to leverage the U.S. Department of Education's $650 million “Investing in Innovation” fund.
A press release from The U.S. Department of Education reports that the money is part of a plan to make more than $1 billion available to expand educational innovations. These efforts include revamping teacher and principal training and implementing technology tools for teaching and learning in all K-12 schools.
The foundations also are launching the Foundation Registry i3, which is a new online application developed to simplify the private funding application process for potential grantees and help find matching foundation funds.
