This year I attended the Free-Tech Conference provided by SmartEd Services in Cleveland. I was expecting this two day conference to be focused solely on SMART technologies. When I registered I started selecting sessions from the program and noticed a wide range of topics such as: Social Networking, Podcasting, Autism, 21st Century learning to name a few. The target audience fit any teacher pre-K to High School special needs to foreign languages.
You may be asking yourself why I would write about a conference you missed out on attending? Well, it's not too late. SmartEd Services has one more conference February 24-25 in Toledo. http://ohiofreetech.org
Though the presenters for the Toledo conference will be different I have witnessed that SmartEd Services hand selected quality teachers who were very prepared. Two Wooster City SD Technology Resource Teachers, Emily Armour and Bizzie Cors, presented "Making Ideas Stick...The Missing Piece of Effective Presentations". Their content was well researched and their presentation method was fun and engaging with the entire audience.
If you are interested in technology, and get away from your district for a day or two, this is the conference I recommend for 2010.
