New Mixed Reality Tools

SMART Technologies™ reports new, mixed reality tools will be available by August 2011, making teaching and learning even more engaging and interactive. Educational technology takes on a new dimension with 3-D, animated, and audio-enriched mixed reality tools.
The SMART Document Camera 330 activates the mixed reality cubes. Moving the mixed reality cubes under the camera manipulates the 3-D object, which is projected onto the SMART Board™ for the entire class to view in real time. There is also an option to highlight portions of the 3-D image using 3-D labels that remain fixed to a designated point, even when the image is rotated or manipulated.
Educators may access thousands of digital resources from the Google 3-D Warehouse. Starting fall 2011, they can also access more than 100 pieces of mixed reality and 3-D content on the SMART Exchange™ website.
