The SMART Board 685ix interactive whiteboard system features the SMART UX60, an ultra-short-throw projector that virtually eliminates shadows, glare and distracting projector light. The projector is positioned directly above the SMART Board interactive whiteboard, projecting crisp, bright images from only 12" (30.5 cm) away. And because the system's interactive whiteboard is widescreen, it has 20% more working space than a standard interactive whiteboard.

Hands-on learning
The key to the SMART Board interactive whiteboard is touch. Write, erase, move objects and control applications by touching or writing on the interactive whiteboard. You can also write with a pen, erase with your palm and move objects with your finger without having to press buttons, access on-screen menus or replace tools in the Pen Tray. Our Touch Recognition feature makes it possible.

Easy to save, easy to share
With SMART Notebook software, which comes with all SMART Board interactive whiteboards, you can capture all of your notes, screenshots, images and videos to a single file that can be opened in both Windows and Macintosh operating systems. Notes and multimedia can be saved as objects that can be manipulated, reorganized and reused. You can also save digital notes directly into several software applications including Microsoft Windows versions of PowerPoint, Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat and AutoCAD software. SMART Notebook even enables you to e-mail saved files to students or colleagues at any time during your lesson. And you can upload your favorite SMART Notebook lessons to the SMART Exchange website, so your colleagues can find them quickly and easily using our custom search engine.

Ideal for classrooms using widescreen laptops and monitors, the system has an 87" (221 cm) interactive whiteboard and a UX60 projector, which offers a 16:10 aspect ratio and native WXGA (1280 x 800) widescreen resolution. You can attach a high definition camcorder, Blu-ray Disc player or widescreen laptop to the extended control panel to give your students a true-to-life multimedia experience, without the distractions of letterboxing or distortion.

Front-of-room centralized control
Switch between all your audiovisual devices directly from the extended control panel. The panel provides centralized control of your classroom technology, including DVD players, digital cameras, document cameras and VCRs. You can move from a website to a video documentary to a review question, quickly and seamlessly. The extended control panel also has a dual-USB port that enables you to connect two computers to the SMART Board™ interactive whiteboard and easily switch between them as required.
Option to add sound
Add SMART Audio or USB speakers to turn the 685ix into a complete multimedia center.
