SMART Response™ VE interactive response system is a browser-based product that works with your existing SMART Response system, enabling students to respond to planned and spontaneous questions and quizzes using their own Internet-enabled devices including iPhones, iPod touches, BlackBerrys, computers and other mobile devices.  SMART Response VE also integrates with SMART Notebook™ collaborative learning software, providing you with one application for creating lessons, delivering assessments and evaluating results.

Keep students engaged in lessons

SMART Response VESMART Response VE helps keep students interested, involved and participating in lessons by giving them a way to individually respond to teacher questions. Students can participate in classroom assessments using Internet-enabled mobile devices, and once a question is complete, they receive feedback instantly and confidentially. To complete assessments, students simply log in to the SMART Response VE website to receive and answer the questions you create.SMART Response VE beta now available to download.

Gauge student understanding

SMART Response VESMART Response VE enables you to deliver assessments, whether created in advance or asked spontaneously at any point during a lesson, to gauge students’ comprehension. When students respond, their answers are automatically summarized into a pie chart or bar graph on a SMART Notebook page, so that you can take a closer look or add your own comments in digital ink.

Evaluate and manage student progress

SMART Response VEWith the Teacher Tools feature in SMART Response VE, you can create class lists, and view and manage all student assessment data in one location. You can also use the built-in gradebook to record test scores, track performance, evaluate trends, create reports or export results into third-party gradebooks for further analysis.

Integration with SMART Notebook software

Create dynamic questions and assessments by accessing SMART Response directly from within SMART Notebook software. With one touch you can deliver assessments on the SMART Board interactive whiteboard. You can also show assessment results on a SMART Notebook page and add comments in digital ink.

Mobile device-enabled

Students respond to assessments using Internet-enabled devices, such as computers, iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad mobile digital devices, Blackberry smartphone models, and phones on the Android mobile technology platform. To complete assessments, students simply log in to the SMART Response VE browser-based product to receive and answer the questions you have created.

Question variety

Ask different types of questions, including true-or-false, yes-or-no, multiple choice, numeric response and multiple answer.

Import existing questions

Import questions from Microsoft Word (Windows only), a PDF (Mac only) and EXAMVIEW. You can also download SMART Notebook lessons with SMART Response assessments from the SMART Exchange website.

Compile tests for formative and summative assessment, prepare quizzes or exams in advance and ask spontaneous questions to gauge students’ comprehension at any point during a lesson.

Display test results immediately

Weighted marking

Assign different point values to individual questions within a test or quiz. You can also adjust student scores in the built-in gradebook.

Tagging

Tag student names and assessment questions with keywords to track specific characteristics that will help you measure and evaluate student performance.

Privacy setting

Use the privacy mode in the system’s built-in gradebook to ensure sensitive student identification details and test scores aren’t seen by other students or teachers.

Multiple print options

Print quizzes as handouts so students can complete them at their own pace, or add comments to completed tests that can be printed and used later as study guides.
