Educational technology has transformed the delivery of subject matter in nearly every discipline from kindergarten to graduate school. However, the measure of a great teacher doesn't rest on her ability to plug-in the projector. SmartEd Services' approach to technology training for educators recognizes that the products are simply the delivery vehicle. Our mission is to inspire and prepare classroom teachers to develop standards-based, curriculum-rich lessons that focus on instructional methodologies and curricular objectives.

 

Lesson Plan Training Program • Half-Day Training Sessions

This program is held at your location and is designed to walk participants through the process of creating a lesson using their materials and SMART™ Notebook software. By the end of the session,participants will be comfortable using the software in the creation of daily lessons plans as well as presenting the material on the SMART™ interactive whiteboard.

 

What to Expect

• Information specific to pedagogical applications
• Instructor-led training and support from a SMART-Certified trainer
• Activities designed for the actual creation of lessons while learning more about the SMART™ Board

Materials
Participants will bring relevant materials for the creation of a lesson plan. By the end of the session, participants will have the foundation for an actual digital lesson plan, if not the completed lesson plan, ready for use with their students.

Each session is designed to accommodate a maximum of 15 participants.

Microsoft Office Training

These half-day sessions are held at your location and assist in the development of participant' skills in the use of Microsoft® Office products commonly used in schools. Microsoft Word®, Excel®, and PowerPoint® sessions can be tailored to the specific comfort level of the attendees (beginner, intermediate, or advanced) and help teachers become more comfortable with the programs.

What to Expect

• Instructor-led training and support from a Microsoft® trainer
• Detailed information delivered in a modular format
• Discussions that help relate and apply what you've learned to your work
  

Materials

Participants will receive a copy of the training workbook that the instructor uses to guide them through the session. The workbook is ideal for future reference.

SMART Senteo™ Training

Held at your location, the goal of this half-day session is to help participants create an environment where the SMART Senteo™ interactive response system
can be most effectively used with students.

 

 

What to Expect

Senteo training is delivered in a learner-driven format incorporating discussions that help participants relate and apply what they've learned to their work.

Participants Will:

• Learn how to author, deliver, assess and report with the basic components
  of the Senteo interactive response system.
• Create Senteo interactive response system questions within existing PowerPoint® slides, and run questions and view results through PowerPoint software.
• Explore Senteo assessment software tools in SMART Notebook software, including how to ask instant questions, create question sets and deliver summative assessments.
• Review advanced features in Senteo software features including how to import questions from existing Microsoft Word software or XML quiz files, and how to export results to a Microsoft Excel® spreadsheet.
• Learn earn about the advanced printing options in Notebook software that allow you to deliver your Senteo assessment software quizzes as printed tests.
• Integrate the Senteo interactive response system with the SMART Board™ interactive whiteboard, and access student and clicker history within the Senteo Manager.
  

Materials

Participants will receive a copy of the PowerPoint® and SMART Notebook presentation used to demonstrate Senteo's powerful data collection and assessment tools.

Software Training • Half-Day Sessions

The half-day sessions are held at your location and will help participants use the various software programs distributed by SmartEd Services. By the end of the session, participants will have the knowledge to use the software most effectively, at the appropriate times with various student groups.

• Training and support from a specialized instructor
• Information specific to pedagogical applications
• Activities designed for the actual implementation of the software in the classroom

Participants will receive outlines that will be completed throughout the session.
